This makes it a great way to prepare for Hero's Pose - in which the thighs and knees have to stretch further to allow the bottom to rest on the floor.

How to do Vajrasana, or Thunderbolt pose, in easy steps  

Step 1:

Come to all fours and slowly bend your knees, sitting back on the inside of your feet with your heels angled to either side of your bottom.
