Interview with Tara Lee, Pregnancy Yoga Teacher

Tara Lee is a London based yoga teacher specialising in pregnancy yoga. She is the creator of several pregnancy yoga DVDs and the award-winning Bump Yoga Mat. She is also a YogaClicks Ambassador. In this interview with author and YogaClicks Founder Lucy Edge, she shares her most hilarious moment in yoga class, what she was like at school, and why orange is her favourite colour.

Q: What’s the best thing a student of yours has ever said to you?

A: “I want to get pregnant again just so I can come to your pregnancy yoga classes!”

Q: What has been your most hilarious moment in a yoga class?

A: When one of my students was laughing and I asked her what was funny, and she said her waters had just broken!

Q: What projects are you currently working on?

A: I have just written a series of 21 days of meditations for pregnancy with fellow yoga teacher Clare Daniell for Silatha (a meditation app) which come with a beautiful raw gem necklace. You connect to the gem during the meditations so that when you wear it you are reminded of the properties you have cultivated from your meditation practice.

Q: What is your must-have yoga accessory?

Q: What’s your favourite asana?

A: I love backbends.

Q: You’re a new addition to the crayon box – what colour would you be and why?

A: Orange is my colour. It has been ever since I was a child. It is a colour of optimism and the sun.

Q: What do you dream about?

A: I dream about my nutrition course that I am currently studying for, especially around exam times. I answer exam questions and write essays in my sleep!
