What is Yoga and Pilates? 

Yoga and Pilates fusion classes, sometimes known as Yogilates, bring together techniques and practices from the two practices. Pilates, a physical exercise system created by Joseph Pilates in Germany, is centred on deliberate control of the muscles from a strong core. A Yoga and Pilates class will use this controlled approach combined with yoga poses from the yogic tradition, as well as using breathing and relaxation techniques.

Yoga and Pilates both share a focus upon the principles of breathing, relaxation, concentration, control, precision, movement, balance and muscle development. Therefore, it’s unsurprising that they mix so well together in Yoga and Pilates fusion classes.
