What is Scaravelli Yoga? 

 

 

 

 

 

Vanda Scaravelli studied with T.K.V. Desikachar and B.K.S Iyengar and developed her style of yoga in response to these teachings. Scaravelli Yoga is rooted in the belief that yoga should be used to bring freedom to the body, not to control it, therefore this type of yoga uses the breath, gravity and the body's natural tendencies to help students arrive at poses without stress or strain.

 

During Scaravelli Yoga practice, students are encouraged to take their time, practicing only a few poses during a class. This means that yogis can spend lots of time exploring and easing into the experience of the pose.
