What is Mum and Baby Yoga?

A typical session of Mum and Baby Yoga includes traditional Hatha Yoga for mums, as well as stretches designed for a baby’s growing body, giving mums and babies new ways to relax and play together.

Mum and Baby Yoga classes use yoga to develop the bond between a mother and her new-born child - the yoga is usually served up with a big dollop of fun. Mothers do most of the work while the baby sits or lies on their Mum, or by her side. Sometimes, in Mum and Baby Yoga, the weight of the baby is used to develop Mum's strength and flexibility. In this type of yoga, singing songs and baby massage can also feature.
