What is Bihar Yoga?
The Bihar School of Yoga is one of the first modern schools of yoga. Bihar Yoga is the type of yoga that seeks to make small, gradual changes, to the body and lifestyle, rather than large sudden changes, as these can physically harm the human body.

Founded by Sri Swami Satyananda Saraswati in 1964, Bihar Yoga, also known as Satyananda, seeks to unite ancient yogic teachings and practices with modern science. Teachings consist of a systematic approach: yoga poses for the physical body, breathing exercises for the energy body, and meditation to still the mind. Bihar Yoga involves a whole person, whole-life approach and encourages the practitioner to embrace Jnana, Bhakti and Karma Yoga as paths to spiritual growth.
